Brookfield Farms Equestrian Center
Clarence, NY
As past clients of our firm, the Robinson Family decided to develop their equestrian culture into a center. The family engaged us to plan, design, obtain governmental permits and approvals, and assist in the construction. The forty-six acre site in Clarence, NY is relatively flat, well drained farm lands which accommodated six pastures. We used the Cover-All enclosure to provide a year-round training facility. There is a 36-stall barn with tack rooms, horse showers and storage. There is an office, waiting and family viewing area. We separated the feed and supply barn from the horse barn to maintain a clean animal environment. We added a manager’s home, garage, and outside riding area for periodic shows and competitions. The use of perforated rubber mats in each stall, automatic watering fountains in the stalls and pastures allows the horses to obtain water as needed. We designed the complex to minimize daily maintenance, and promote a sustainable farm with minimal energy usage. Lynn and Gary set the program agenda on how they wanted to work, and we assisted in the process to study and resolve technical issues to facilitate their functional requirements.
